It's been a fortnight since I last posted on here because, I'll be honest, last week I just didn't have the motivation to sit down and write something that I wanted to share. I just felt a bit 'meh', you know? The weather was a bit rubbish, and here in Scotland things seemed to be at a stand still where we were stuck between watching the rest of the UK's lockdown ease off and the promise of potential lifts in our own restrictions seeming distant. (Not that I think this process should be rushed).
I also had a holiday from work last week, the first in the last few years where we haven't gone abroad and that got me down a little. I look forward to getting away, yes to enjoy the guaranteed sunshine, cocktails and general carefree mentality, but mainly because I get to wear a whole other wardrobe, which Scotland rarely allows me to enjoy. Although we made the most of the time off, exploring our lovely local area more than we probably would have in any other circumstance, I found myself lacking in motivation to get dressed up and create any kind of content.
This week however, the sun is shining again and we've been provided with new government guidelines on the easing up of lockdown. Outdoor dining and beer gardens have re-opened and more households will be able to get together at one time - so it seems like the perfect time to dig out the Summer dresses and enjoy another couple of steps towards our former normality.
This year I've discovered a whole new love for floral dresses and I know, I know, "florals for Spring, groundbreaking" and all that - but this is florals for Summer, so that's allowed. Right? Anyways, I'm saying it is, if that counts for anything, so Miranda Priestly can take it up with me... and all of the brands currently serving up some of the season's best dresses on the market.

So that furlough payslip might stretch a little further than you thought and you can wear your new dress whilst treating yourself to a G&T in your local... You can find beautiful pieces from all of our high street favourites including, Mango, H&M, ASOS and Miss Selfridge, and at these prices you don't need to worry about getting them ruined with suncream or fake tan, for my fellow less tannable types amongst us.

Although this year has been undoubtedly difficult for retailers, it's proving extremely beneficial for us, the customers. With Summer sales in full swing, right now is the perfect time to purchase an item that you may have previously deemed a little out of budget without having a specific occasion or reason to buy for. So garden parties are the Summer weddings of this year, and though my heart breaks for all of those brides-to-be whose plans have been shattered, those of us who planned to attend can get ahead of the game and snap up our outfits in the sale for the re-scheduling... Bonus!
